How the Name Numerology Calculator works

This calculator uses the Pythagorean system, the most widely used method in modern numerology. Every letter is assigned a number from 1 to 9: A=1, B=2, C=3, and so on through I=9, after which the sequence repeats (J=1, K=2 …). To find a name's number, the calculator adds the value of every letter and then reduces the total to a single digit by adding its digits together. The one exception is the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which numerology preserves rather than reducing because they are considered especially powerful.
